Infant/Tot Recreation

Are you a new parent who is seeking activities and programs to get involved with? Through research and discussion with professioanls I hope to give you ideas on how to get started. I understand that having a baby doesnt come with an instruction manuel, so hopefully this will be the next best thing. Through researching through various Parks and Recreation Departments a lot offer introduction to swimming. While reading parents reactions to these lessons, many seemed hesitant to begin these lessons with this age group, but most come out with a positive outlook. They say it helps the trust between them and their child and helps relieve stress. Most say from various Parks and Recreation Departments around the country that the introduction to swimming classes that are offered in community pools and YMCA's are a great activity to go out and have fun with other parents who are in the same situtation as you. Another activity suggested from the Parks and Recreation website (parksandrecreation.org) is beginner arts and crafts. Though your child is still so small and developing, it allows them to inherit motor skills and creativity. The intro to arts and crafts is a widely appreciated program that looks to be growing more on the Eastern United States. As a new uncle, I understad the struggles of wanting to go out and participate in large group activities and programs, therefore some suggestions would be to dedicate a time where you and your spouse can go out and run/jog/walk together with your child to get some sort of recreation and exercise in. I feel that if you made this routine and made it a fun and interactive way to get involved in some type of recreation, it would relieve stress, tension, and allow room for your relationships to grow. I hope this blog helps you new parents searching for ways to recreate and have fun with a new child. Even if you dont have an infant yet, this can help you understand that there are ways to go out and have fun while being a parent.
